Engagement

We have each other’s back. We care about what we do, go the extra mile and have fun.

Community

Passion

Everything we do, we do it with all our heart. We prioritize fun over perfection.

We are looking for volunteers to join us in Switzerland

About the position

Swiss Escape is a place where professionals live and work for a minimum of 1 week, up to 2 months. Our average stay is 1 month. During that time, we ensure that everyone feels welcome and at home, connecting people and organizing events for them to socialize. Your role is essential in creating unforgettable memories.

Your tasks will include:

  • Checking in and checking out residents

  • Onboard new guests into the community, explaining to them how the house operates, fostering connections among residents.

  • Being the main contact person for any questions, concerns, or problems that a resident may have.

  • Occasionally setting up the bedroom for a new resident. While we have professional staff who handle this on weekends, when a resident checks in during the week, you’ll be asked to ensure the room is clean and the bed is set up.

  • Washing residents' bed linens and towels on a weekly basis.

  • Regularly checking inventory in the house, such as toiletries, office supplies, and kitchen supplies.

  • Ensuring that the houses remain clean and tidy throughout the week. We have systems in place to ensure residents contribute to maintaining a well-organized and comfortable living environment. It is your responsibility to remind them to do so whenever you notice someone falling short.

  • Organizing and leading two community events per week: one social and one professional event. Our social events include hikes, dinners, board game evenings, movie nights, and other fun activities. Our professional events involve skill-sharing, small presentations, masterminds, and the like.

  • Creating weekly content for Instagram stories and posts. Documenting (with pictures and small videos) what happens around the house or during events/outside activities.

  • Assisting our team in other areas of the business when required.

*We require a commitment of up to 20 hours per week. You will mainly work in the afternoons, evenings, and on weekends, with flexible hours.

Who are we looking for?

  • You are a social butterfly - yes, an extrovert. You genuinely enjoy spending time with people. You’re very good at connecting and interacting with others.

  • You are open-minded. You love meeting people from all over the world and know how to adapt to different cultures and backgrounds.

  • You have a natural talent for understanding the needs of others. You are a good listener and you can empathize with others. You know how to solve people’s problems, whether big or small, to make their stay more enjoyable.

  • You are adventurous and love spending time in nature. During your free time, you love nothing more than hiking & mountain biking in summer and skiing or snowboarding in winter.

  • You are motivated and organized. You take the lead when it comes to planning small gatherings or trips with your friends. You naturally enjoy being the leader of a group and organizing activities & excursions for others.

  • You like clean and tidy spaces. You have an eye for anything that is broken around the house and needs fixing. You will be asked to collaborate with our professional cleaner on a weekly basis.

  • Ideally, you have a side project or job that keeps you busy. As this is not a full time position, you’ll have time to work on your own projects.

  • You are a digital nomad or interested in trying this lifestyle. The idea of travelling around the world and working from anywhere excites you.

  • You are fluent in English. This is our official language in the house and within our team.

  • Being able to speak some French is a plus but not necessary.

*We do not provide visa assistance; you should have the right to reside in Switzerland for the requested duration of the stay.

* Couples can also apply. Please mention it in the application form.

When can you volunteer?

  • September 1 - October 31, 2024

*We require a minimum of one month stay as a volunteer.

If you are interested in volunteering during other dates, please complete the application form as we hire on a rolling basis. Our team will be in touch if your profile matches the role.

What do we offer?

  • Accommodation at our coliving space.

  • Free use of facilities (lockers, coworking, laundry, etc.).

  • From May to November, we provide a summer pass that offers free access to numerous activities and tourist attractions in the region.

  • Opportunities to connect and build relationships with residents from around the world. Our visitors are eager to connect and excited to explore new places. The average age is 30 years old, with a majority aged between 25 and 40 years old. However, we’ve had participants ranging from 22 to 60 years old, and most of them are travelers and working professionals with incredibly interesting stories and experiences.
