The ride to #swissescape is a beautiful one. Long winding tracks, crossing lakes and castles so make sure you get the window seat (on the right hand side of the direction your are travelling).
It is actually quite easy to get to your destination if you do it right.
There are four airports you’ll be able to fly into in order to get to us: Geneva, Zurich, Basel or Milan airport. When you book your flight, keep in mind that in order to reach Swiss Escape on the same day, you’ll need to be in Sierre by 19:10 for the last bus. This means you’ll want to catch a train from the airport no later than:
16:25 from Geneva airport
16:18 from Zurich airport
16:06 from Basel airport
13:00 from Milan airport
Once you’ve arrived at either of these airports, you’ll be able to take the train to Sierre (nearby town). The stop you’ll want to get off at is called Sierre/Siders.
If you land in Geneva, the train will take you 2.5 hours to the Sierre/Siders stop, while from Zurich, Basel, and Milan, it will take about 3.5 hours. From any of the Swiss locations, the trains to Sierre run every 30 minutes. Have a look at the time table here. The most convenient airport to arrive is Geneva because you can take a direct train from the airport to Sierre.
You can buy your train ticket to Sierre on the SBB Mobile App, or on the website.
You can also get a supersaver ticket at a discounted price, which is only valid for the specific time and day you have purchased. To do this, find the supersaver ticket button under the “Options for outward journey” field. Here is a screen recording of how to do this.
Once you’ve arrived in Sierre, you’ll want to take a bus to make the final leg of your trip. Take a bus from Sierre to Grimentz Télécabine. Tickets can be bought from the bus driver (cash only) or on the SBB Mobile app. The last bus from Sierre to Grimentz leaves at 19:10 (or 20:30 on Fridays only).
Once you know when your bus will arrive please let Swiss Escape know, either via email or WhatsApp.
Finally, when you arrive at Grimentz Télécabine, we will meet you at the bus stop! We’ll give you a tour of town, and bring you to… the one… the only… Swiss Escape.
